A link between Earth and Heaven

Axis Mundi represents the cosmic world axis—the line that connects the Earth's center to the heavens and the underworld, around which the universe revolves. This concept raises the question: can the artist, like a priest, a shaman, or a philosopher, act as a mediator? Is the artist an embodied axis between the human world and the spiritual realm?

In my work, I intertwine metaphysics, physics, and psychoanalysis, reflecting my own personal evolution and spiritual exploration.

As part of this exploration, I invited Karine Herrou Gonzalez, a dervish dancer, to offer two sama (whirling dervish) performances during the evening. The dervish dance was chosen deliberately, as it symbolizes the connection between earth and spirit, the antenna that bridges the physical world and the universe. The dance itself becomes a living, moving link between the earthly realm and the higher planes, reinforcing the theme of Axis Mundi as a cosmic conduit.
