ANIMA MUNDI
“A single visible living entity containing all other living entities”
ANIMA MUNDI explores the deep, intrinsic connection between all living entities on the planet. It highlights the truth that every species, no matter how small, is interconnected with the larger whole—the universe—and is in constant relationship with all other life forms. This concept is rooted in ancient philosophies, religions, and cultural beliefs, where the world is seen as a living being, much like the human soul is connected to the human body. Plato, in his work Timaeus, expressed this idea: “This world is indeed a living being endowed with a soul and intelligence… a single visible living entity containing all other living entities, which by their nature are all related.” In response to this profound concept, I created two paintings in a trance-like state, a mental and emotional place where I transcend my body and mind. In these moments, I connect to a larger self, becoming a channel for energy that I project directly onto the canvas. In this state, I am not my thoughts or physical form; I am simply a conduit of energy, flowing through and translating that connection into visual expression.
