“Music is like calligraphy with sound”

Synesthesia reflects my exploration of the creative process and the beauty of music through the medium of painting. I draw inspiration from iconic figures in music, particularly legendary rock stars like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, the doors, Amy Winehouse... and translate the rhythms of their music into the movement of paint on canvas.

This collection features large-scale paintings and horizontal diptychs, creating a complex relationship between the viewer and the artwork. My emotive strokes on canvas form an intricate dance, evoking responses and encouraging contemplation. The paintings express emotions and a quest for meaning in the midst of chaos. Although there is a sense of losing control in such states, I also recognize that they give rise to passion, beauty, and harmony.

Ultimately, Synesthesia is my visual exploration of the profound connections between music, emotion, and the artistic process. I invite viewers to experience and interpret the interplay of strokes, colors, and themes, and to connect with the emotion behind the work.
